NSK’ novelties in cinema |
| |
NSK wished the tamil audience to enjoy the happenings in other countries, so he created a scene in the movie 'Naveena Vikramadithiya' (1940) in which actor Durairaj and NSK have an ice skating competition. It was an out of the world movie experience for the movie-goers in those days. |

In the movie ‘Manamagal’ directed by NSK, behind the scene technicians like cinematographer, script writer, music director where all introduced on screen. For the first time people could see the technicians too. By this gesture he gave equal importance to those behind the camera as those in front of it. |

In the same movie, a scene depicted a father sitting on a swing and enjoying his daughters (Lalitha and Padmini) playing the veena. By placing the camera on the swing he created the effect of movement of the swing to be felt and not merely seen by the people. This was much spoken about. |

NSK used spoonerism in some of his songs that delighted the audience because it was totally new to them. No doubt, variety was the spice of his art.
