He has acted in mythological and historical movies too. Whatever the movie, his role was clearly defined – entertainment used to dispel the ignorance of the people and transform society. 'Vasantha Sena' which was the 100th movie in tamil gains importance more so because it is the movie in which NSK took on a serious role. He has also acted in ‘Bagya Lakshmi’, a telugu movie.

NSK’s songs are a special category in itself. They are scene specific and meaningful. Udumalai Narayana Kavi scripted the ideas of NSK to perfection. They enjoyed a rapport that was the reason for the success of his songs.

T A Mathuram also had her share in contributing lines for songs or dialogue. Once when NSK and Udumalai Narayana Kavi were stuck after the first line of a song “Nattuku sevai seiya…” it was Mathuram who gave the second line “Nagareega komali vanthan iya…”

There were many lives that were touched upon by NS Krishnan. It was not only financial help, but there are many who benefited from his association. He moulded many comedians who later on went on to enjoy independent roles. The legacy of
N S Krishnan was continued by innumerable comedians. To mention just a few T S Durairaj, T S Balaiah, M R Swaminathan, Pullimutai Ramaswamy, Ka. Ka. Radhakrishnan, C. S. pandian, Thangavelu, Kullatheivam Rajagopal etc.

Whenever better opportunity knocked at their doors, NSK was magnanimous in encouraging them to move on to greener pastures wholeheartedly. Therefore, although they moved away physically, they not only felt indebted to him but also exalted
N S Krishnan to the position of their godfather.

Once when Nadigamani T V Narayanasamy was in great distress and was sent by Arignar Anna to Kalaivanar, Kalaivanar gave him a small role in the film ‘Burma Rani’, but paid him Rs.1000/- which helped him to clear all his father’s debts. He also got him a job in Jupiter company thus ensuring a steady income for him.

Whenever artistes who were in trouble visited him, even if he could not help them out by giving roles, he asked them to apply make up pretending that there was a perfect role for them after providing a lavish lunch. At the end of the day he would say that the shooting could not take place and it would be held on some other day when they were about to leave he would give them money as was the usual practice.

He knew the art of graceful giving. He felt that he was just an instrument in the chain of life.
